Chapter 01The exchange

Exactly what we read, and what we never touch.

8 of the 9 permissions we request are read permissions. The other one, write_pixels, installs your Meta pixel on your storefront. None of them can change your products, your prices or your orders.

8 read scopes1 write scope, for the pixelNo customer identities stored
We read
  • Your product catalogwrites the ad and builds product ads
  • Your last year of ordersfinds where your buyers come from
  • Your customers, in aggregatefinds buyers like them, from hashed lists we never keep
  • Brand, theme and contentwrites ads in your voice and colors

Order rows carry no name, email, phone, address or customer ID: only the revenue and the ad-click key that ties a sale to an ad. Customer emails are hashed before they leave for Meta and the list is never kept. The reviews on your storefront are stored with your store data, and one may be quoted verbatim in an ad. Section 4 of the privacy policy says the same thing in full.
